Valdez,
only 35 minutes from Anchorage, by air, can also be reached by road
and sea. From Anchorage, 305 road miles, from Fairbanks,
365. If coming by sea, the Alaska Marine Highway System ferries,
cruise ships and excursion boats can get you here. Approximately
70 cruise ships dock in Valdez every year, in addition to over 640
tankers. Approximately 4500 people call Valdez home, and
industries here include fishing, petroleum, travel and tourism, and
shipping. Guests will enjoy summer temperatures in the 60's and
70's, and winter highs in the 20's. Valdez is famous for snow,
and with more than 300 inches falling annually, sports such as alpine
and cross country skiing, ice climbing, snowboarding, snowmachining
and dog sledding are winter favorites. In summer, charter
captains will show you the adventure of your life!. Any and all
types of salmon abound, and 300 lb halibut have been hauled in.
The Valdez Fishing Derbies are the oldest in Alaska, and tens of
thousands of dollars in prize money are awarded each year. Trout
and Dolly Varden are plentiful in Valdez's lakes, rivers and streams.

here it is, the ultimate adventure. An A-Star helicopter flies you up and
drops you off on a ridge top or summit and you ski down, not once, but six runs
a day, an average of 2,000 to 5,000 vertical feet per run. Or perhaps ice
climbing is more your cup of tea -with helicopter access, you'll be able to
climb routes that have never climbed before. Or maybe kayaking -
you'll paddle anything from small creeks to Alaskan-style big water. Go
for a full day of guided helicopter skiing, or three days of guided
helicopter skiing Also offered are Inclusive
packages of 3 to 6 day duration, which include lodging,
breakfast and lunch, all safety equipment and all ground transportation while in
Valdez. Included is : All ground transportation, the use of safety
equipment and fat skis. They have Salomon AK Rockets Fat Skis, Life-Link ski
packs, Tracker DTS avalanche transceivers, Life-Link probes, shovels, and Black
Diamond harnesses for your use. They do require that all skiers/ riders use a

to the Valdez area will be thrilled with the adventures awaiting them. Choose how you want to sail, aboard Denali, a 42 ft. trawler,
with three staterooms, bedding and bath towels provided, full galley with stove
and over, refrigerator, microwave, all cookware and dishes, walk-around deck and
covered flybridge. There's even an underwater camera for guests to watch
the undersea world as they sail along. For those qualified
adventures who prefer to sail themselves, a bare boat option is offered.
All equipment is provided except food and beverages. This option can accommodate
up to 8 people. A captain-only option accommodates up to 6 people, provides
everything but food and beverages, and includes a captain. The full-service
option is all inclusive and comes with a full crew, including captain and
cook. No matter which option you choose, you'll be awed by the sights and
sounds of this beautiful area. From calving glaciers, beautiful beaches
and forests, to Alaskan wildlife ranging from whales, eagles, and otters to
seals, sea lions and sea birds galore. For even more adventure, sea kayaks and a
sport fishing boat are available. It is suggested that guests bring warm
clothing, rain gear, any special beverages, plenty of film for your camera and

William Sound include sailing, beachcombing, fishing, kayaking, wildlife

and last from half day to ten days. Half day tours are perfect for
novices to kayaking. Full day tours range from kayaking among ice
flows, passing in front of massive glaciers, to wildlife viewing, and
include experienced guides, all necessary equipment, snack, instruction and
water taxi transportation . Kayak rentals, for experienced
paddlers only. The Mothership supported overnight trips, provide
overnight stays on one of the sailing or motor vessels. Two and
